An inspiration wall
Whether it’s above your bed for happy thoughts before you sleep, or your desk for study motivation (because the struggle is real) a little inspiration space is both encouraging and totally pinterestable, whilst being super cheap to make! All you need is some blue or white tac and postcards. Paperchase postcards are just 60p each and come in adorable designs. Or for an even more personable twist why not get plain ones and write out your favourite scriptures?
Tape that!
Thought your sticker hoarding ended way back? Well, be prepared to become a complete sticker-nerd again! Washi tape is your new obsession. Bed boarders are a great way to make a feature out of an otherwise plain wall – plus if you love your bed as much as we love ours it’s a good way to give it the throne-like status it has always deserved! These tapes are just £1.36 and are available from Amazon in a billion different colours.
Fairy lights- they’re just for Christmas, right?
Wrong! And they don’t have to be childish either! If the whole inspiration wall isn’t really your thing, why not print a selection of your fave Insta pics (photobox is ace for this), peg them on to some lights and stick them on your wall instead. A lot of people string fairy lights in a million different way but our favourite has to be lining the ceiling or floor – instant mood lighting achieved.
Soft and gentle
When your hard furnishings (e.g your bed, wardrobe and desk) are for keeps but you want to inject a new vibe into your space, soft furnishings are one of the easiest ways to do so – in fact I think they make more of a difference. Throws, cushions, rugs and blankets, they are all amazing for not only reinventing, but making your room extra comfy too! If your walls are a neutral tone use them for a pop of colour and stick to a scheme with a thread of one colour going through so it doesn’t look too mismatched. Primark, TK Maxx and H&M Home all have gorgeous soft furnishings that are crazy-affordable!
