When we think about the future, it can sometimes feel overwhelming and full of pressure. Maybe you get asked at every family gathering what your plans are for when you finish school, or what career you hope to have. Maybe it fills you with anxiety and dread for the future rather than excitement and expectancy! First things first. You are not alone.
Whether you have important decisions to make at school, college or university you can take comfort in God’s words and this post will share some key bible verses to help you find peace in your worries. Hopefully this will allow you to transform those anxieties into excitement for your future and give you the confidence to make the best choices for you. Why not write out some of your favourite verses on small cards and stick them up on your mirror or somewhere that you’ll see them every day?!
‘May the God of Hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him. So that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit’ (Romans 15:13)
Hope has the power to overthrow fear. Finding ways to become hopeful for the future makes the worries fade away and drives you to look forward to overcoming challenges.
‘God is within her, she will not fail’ (Psalms 46:5)
This empowering message is even more than it seems, we’ve shared the truth behind the scripture in this recent article so have a read and get excited about your future and the strength that God gives us to face any situation!
‘For with God nothing shall be impossible’ (Luke 1:37)
This is a short and simple one and one that is good to read in the morning to give you the motivation to face the day. By looking around with gratitude and all the blessings you have received, you really can see that anything is possible with God.
‘She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future’ (Proverbs 31:25)
This is one of my personal favourite Bible verses and one I often turn to it for comfort. It highlights that the fear of the future is something that people have struggled with for years and there is no shame in it. There is confidence to be had in not feeling alone and it gives you the strength to go into the future with security in yourself and can give you the confidence to talk about your problems.
We all need a reminder sometimes to put our trust in God. It is so easy to get caught up in your own head or compare ourselves to others on social media. Hopefully focusing on His word can help you make the best decisions for yourself, to give yourself the best chance at happiness. Remember talking about your worries and the decisions you have to face is a great way to work through problems too, you are never alone. One little quote I will leave you with, that I often find helpful to remember: ‘Give it to God and go to sleep.’
