Why Am I Always Crying?

written by Emma December 24, 2015
Why Am I Always Crying?

As a girl this gets us all, (or at least most of us), at some point in our teen/adolescent years. You could be watching a film and have to fight back the tears at any sad, or even happy, moment! Maybe you come home from school and nothing particularly bad has happened but you just feel tired so you start to cry. You could be speaking to a friend and find yourself way more teary than you usually would, and you just can’t work out why!

It can be really confusing to cry all the time, but don’t worry you are not alone and you are definitely not weird!

As girls we tend to be naturally more emotional than boys anyway, and that’s totally okay! But particularly when we are in our teenage years, our hormones are developing and it can make us feel over emotional and not like our usual selves.

Although it’s our hormones that cause us to be more emotional, we don’t have to live life based on what they are doing. We may feel teary on the inside but God wants us to trust in Him and not our emotions. So when you start feeling this way it’s totally okay to let it all out, but don’t be overcome by the emotion and always team the tears with a reminder of how much God loves you and some favourite encouraging bible verses.

It’s good for us to understand why we may sometimes feel the way we do so that we know there’s nothing to worry about. However, if you do feel as though there are specific things in your life that are getting you down then make sure you speak to a trusted friend or an adult about what is troubling you.

If you have any more questions feel free to drop us an email at info@girlgotfaith.com, we would love to help!
