Dear Younger Me

written by Daniella June 18, 2017
Dear Younger Me

We spoke to a bunch of girls in their early twenties and asked what they would tell their younger self. We hope it inspires you to worry less, and trust more! Is there anything you’d tell your younger self? Comment below!

Current Age: 20, Younger Self: 17

Dear D’anne use this time wisely, you’ ll never get your first, second or third year of university back again. Have fun, spend time with your friends, call your family often, thank God every day for the family he has placed you. Thank God for parents you have. Finally, use this time to build your relationship with God. Guard your heart (those boys can’t fill that empty space only God can). Take your time and live life, it’s okay x

Current age: 20 // Younger Self: 15

Dear Britny you are fun, intelligent, loving, caring and a masterpiece made by God. Whoever doesn’t see it, isn’t worth your time. You don’t need anyone’s approval. There will be those who will treasure your company. But most important enjoy your own company, plus God enjoys your company and He is all you need.

Current age: 22 // Younger self: 14

Dear Ozzie-Jennifer, it doesn’t matter what people say to you if you are lead to do something and you feel that it is right, DO IT! Don’t look back and don’t doubt God. He is with you.

Dear Ardelle, be encouraged! Often the pressures of your youth and lack of wisdom at times may cause you to act based on emotions and comparison. But focus on your own journey and stay in your own lane. Understand your standard doesn’t come from the world around, but from your Father in Heaven.

Current age: 22 // Younger self: 11

Dear Karyn I know you will be scared, scared of life. Life will always throw curve balls at you and to this day it still does. But what I want to let you know is life is not what happens to you but how you respond and react to it. It’s full of decisions. But accept the journey. Because everything I know now is a result of what I went through. You are stronger than what you believe.

Current age: 20 // Younger self: 15

Dear Lorriane, love yourself the way God loves you. Never let anyone tell you different. Follow what God has set out for you. Treasure your life like diamond because you are clothed in royalty. You are a princess.

Current age : 22 // Younger self: 13

Dear Daniella ,You are beautiful inside and out. I know sometimes you don’t feel like it because your skin is not the best. But God formed you in his own image. You are the apple of his eye. Enjoy being a young queen. Sing more, dance more, play more. You don’t have a lot of friends but value the ones you do have because you will grow together. Don’t be worried about the future, it will take care of its self.
