DIY Facemasks

DIY Facemasks

We are well into Spring now and the change in winter may have effect on our skin too. We may need to switch our facial regimes to much lighter products. To get that spring fresh face I searched up a few homemade scrubs that are perfect to get that fresh spring face!

Please note that every one’s skin is different, so we always advise testing the ingredients on a small patch of skin on the inside of your forearm before applying to your face in case of an allergic reaction.

Uh-huh Honey

Our first face scrub consists of honey, lemon and sugar. Get 1 tablespoon of honey and put it in a bowl (you can use raw honey which is even better). Add to the bowl 4-5 drops of lemon juice from a fresh lemon. Next add 1-2 tablespoon for fine sugar. Mix well and apply to your face. This scrub helps to brighten and smooth skin!

Second scrub is a yogurt scrub. In a small bowl add 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt , 1 tablespoon of honey and 1-2 tablespoons of oats. Oats work well to soothe the skin. Mix all together, if the oats make it too thick add a bit more yogurt or water. This scrub helps to prevent breakouts and improve dull skin.

Ava go

The third scrub is great for avocado lovers. Mash ½ a ripened avocado into a bowl. Add teaspoon of olive oil and mix until it looks like a thick paste. This scrub is great for dry and sensitive skin.

For Eggcellent Skin

The next one is a face scrub/mask. You need to separate an egg put the egg yolk in a bowl (save the egg white it can be used for other face masks). Then grate about half a carrot and add it to the bowl then 2 tablespoons of milk. This mask/scrub is great for someone who has normal skin but wants a bit more radiance.

Apply all of these scrubs gently to the face. Leave them on for about 10 –20 minutes. Rinse them off with lukewarm water and then moisture your face as usual.
