The days are getting lighter, the sun is starting to shine and the daffodils are starting to show. Spring is a season of new beginnings, the light after the darkness, it’s the season which gives us hope for nicer weather and longer days.
There’s no better time to start some healthier habits: an improvement in skincare, exercising a little more or eating better foods (It all seems a little more achievable when we feel like we have more time!)
Skincare couldn’t be more welcome after a long winter. Often our skin becomes dry or dehydrated in the wind and the cold, this can make it more sensitive. A good way to give your skin a radiance boost is to start with a gentle exfoliator, once or twice a week, followed by a moisturiser. If you find your skin feels really tight and sensitive, try using a nourishing mask once a week. You’ll find your skin is glowing in no time!
Even though the temperature feels cold, it’s important to boost your SPF levels in your moisturiser. Most moisturisers now already have an SPF but it’s always good to check just to make sure your skin is protected!
Spring is great for trying something new! Pastel colours are ‘in’ during the spring season so why not mix up your makeup a little bit with some pastel eyeshadows or a vibrant coloured eyeliner? Winter is often the carrier of darker neutrals, but with the spring flowers starting to show and Easter on its way, now is the time to introduce a little colour into your look!
You may also find that as the daylight changes, your makeup look from winter may look too dark. Try using a softer, lighter blush on the apples of the cheeks to give you a glowy, healthy look. A shimmery highlighter on the cheek bones also looks fresh and pretty in the sunshine!
Feel free to try something new, Spring is a time for changes and new beginnings. Makeup is creative so be bold and use it to show who you are. As we look to Easter we see a season ahead of us which is filled with hope. We see the world coming alive around us so now is a time to step out and be bold. After all, we are remembering the greatest sacrifice ever made, and that was made for us.
