Summer Beauty Tips

Summer Beauty Tips

The nights are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer (supposedly!) and an ice-cream is now classed as one of your 5 a day which can only mean one thing… summer is in the air! As with any change of season, this can mean changing things up in terms of beauty which is really exciting! It’s the perfect time to change things up, feel fresher and just have a bit of time for yourself.

One of the best things about summer beauty is that it is the perfect time to enhance your natural beauty- of course, any time of the year is perfect for that though! It’s just the at the warmer weather makes it less likely that you want to wear a heavy foundation or do a smoky eye. When it comes to creating a base that you feel comfortable with in the warmer months then I would suggest simplifying it as much as possible. Instead of a foundation look at a tinted moisturiser or opt for a heavier coverage concealer. Remember that SPF is a really important step in protecting your skin from the sun’s powerful UV rays, even more so in the summer!

Achieving that glow is big part of summer beauty. This kind of glow might seem out of reach but the basics of it come from just looking after your skin and yourself. Staying hydrated, taking care when in the sun and getting a good amount of sleep- they can all impact your skin. Always taking your make-up off and using a moisturiser are good places to start too! If you are wanting to enhance that Insta-glow even further, then there are LOTS of highlighting options. Whether you want a more intense shine then liquid might be better or a cream product to create a subtler look. Placing the highlighting product above your cheekbones, under your eyebrows and a little on your nose will help you achieve that summer glow.

Multi-use products are PERFECT for summer holidays. Try experimenting using products in different ways- you don’t have to be controlled by what the label says! Using your bronzer as an eyeshadow or some lip products can double up as blusher. It’s exciting to make different make-up looks and use your products in ways that you haven’t before. Finding a palette that you can use in different ways is really handy when going on your summer holidays too as it can save space… leaving more room for buying souvenirs!

Remember not to get caught up in summer beauty, there is no such thing as ‘summer body ready’. Make-up and getting a summer glow is all just a little bit of fun and is something that can be really exciting to experiment with but it does not change the beauty from within. A lovely Bible verse that should remind you to celebrate your natural beauty is ‘I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well’ (Psalm 139:14).
