These lasses are killing it.
(Click their names to hear their music!)
[Afrobeat, reggae, hip-hop]. Incredible beats and genius production, Nneka’s real strength are her lyrics. Political, spiritual and soulful, she sings in Igbo and English, and speaks out on difficult issues with grace and wisdom. This woman has no fear.
[Folk, country]. This trio uplift and encourage with their tight, smooth harmonies and instinctive musicianship. Sisters Beth and Emily, and cousin Meg have been compared to The Staves (but I think they’re wayyyyyyyyyyy better!) Catch them live if you can, they will give you a BANGIN’ PERFORMANCE MATE.
(Got a bit over-excited there.)
[Folk/ Pop] Energetic and heartfelt, these multi-instrumentalists are both blessed with incredibly powerful voices, and write records to inspire and motivate. If you’ve ever heard The Proclaimers, (500 Miles… Let’s Get Married… that Shrek song… no?…) this duo are similar in their passion and use of harmonies. Again, another band to see live if you can.
