Three Things To Remember

written by Belle March 20, 2020
Three Things To Remember

So, here we all are- keeping a constant eye on the news, trying to stay away from other people and panic buying toilet roll (toilet roll?! Really?!) because we have no idea what else to do.

If you’re feeling a little confused, I’m with you.

If you’re wondering what to do, I’m with you.

If you’re even feeling a little anxious, I’m with you.

There are three things I want to remind you of in the middle of this confusion, three things that I’m hoping will infuse a little peace into your day, three things that will never be shaken.

You ready?

Let’s go.

NUMBER 1: You are not on your own in this.

This is a biggy.

I want you to know that you are not facing this on your own, not even for a second. You are completely held, totally seen and insanely loved, ALWAYS. Nothing can ever get in the way of God. Nothing can ever stop Him from hearing your every word, seeing your every move and caring about your every worry.

He’s walking us through this. He’s as close as ever. And He ain’t going anywhere.

He has placed people around you, He’s brought you to this very article just so that you can be reminded that He’s right there next to you (and He always will be).

There is no such thing as self-isolation when it comes to God, He’s just too good of a God for that.

So, I’ll say it again- you are not alone in this!

NUMBER 2:This virus is not bigger than God.

Oooooh, this is another biggy.

This virus feels like a very big deal, and it is. But do you know who wasn’t surprised by this? Who isn’t over-whelmed? Who isn’t confused and worried?

Yup – God.

I don’t know how this is effecting you, whether you’re on your sixth day of isolation and going craaaaaazy, or whether you’re trying your hardest to keep everything as normal as possible- but one thing I do know- there is a very powerful God who has totally got your back.

Just remember who He is.

Remember what He can do.

Remember how much He loves you.

Does that make you feel a little less over-whelmed? It should.

If you’re feeling like worry isn’t leaving you alone, find a way to point them all in God’s direction. Whether that’s speaking them out, writing them down, putting them on a note on your phone- whatever works for you. Pass the worries onto the One who’s strong enough to carry them for you.

NUMBER 3: You can make a whoooooole load of difference.

Well, what do we have here? Yet another biggy.

You are powerful. Like, seriously.

You have the power to change someone’s day, maybe their week. You have what it takes to make this whole thing easier for someone else.

You have the power to show this world a little glimpse of Jesus, a little glimpse of love in action, a little glimpse of what they’re missing.

Whether it’s slipping a note through your neighbours’ door, texting a friend, sending a person flowers, or using your social media to spread love and compassion- you can be what the world needs right now.

Let’s find ways to show the world what kindness looks like. Let’s show them how compassion is more powerful than chaos.

This is a strange season, a very high looking mountain, a long old path- but with a God who does not leave and does not fail, I think we’ve got this.
