Festive Pamper Night

written by Amy December 23, 2018
Festive Pamper Night

The most wonderful time of the year is upon us! It is the perfect time to treat yourself and enjoy a lovely pamper evening either with your best friends, family or if you just want some me-time.

Taking some time out to give yourself a festive treat can really help your mental wellbeing and will give you a chance to re-charge your batteries after a busy term at school, college or work. By giving yourself this little break, you can really re-focus your mind and get yourself ready for all the Christmas fun that is to come.

STEP ONE

All great pamper evenings start with a good festive bath, or a relaxing shower if you don’t have one! I love checking out LUSH’s Christmas range around this time of the year, it is cruelty free, and there’s even some zero waste options too which is a lovely bonus!

One of my favourites is the festive ‘Snow Fairy’ shower gel, or the bubble bar version called ‘Candy Mountain Yule Log’, it is a gorgeous bubble-gum scent that is limited edition! The more bubbles the better. Top tip: Listening to some Christmas songs makes the bath even more festive.

STEP TWO

Once you’re all freshly bathed, I like to move onto skincare. You can be forgiven for neglecting your skin throughout the year, it always seems to fall down the list, but during these winter months it’s an important time to nourish your skin. Face masks are great and there are sooooo many options! You can get one to target a specific skin concern, a peel-off one, or if you don’t enjoy doing a full face mask, then using some nose strips still works a treat.

Top tip: If you’re not a face mask fan, just take some time to do your full skincare routine that you usually don’t have time for.

STEP THREE

This has to be one of the most important pamper evening steps: SNACKS. One of the loveliest parts of Christmas is the abundance of sweet treats that are hanging around the house! Pick your favourite and enjoy. You could grab yourself a big hot chocolate too – the bigger the mug, the better. Once you’re armed with your favourite snacks and hot drinks, a big cosy blanket and Christmas pyjamas you are ready for the hardest decision of all: What Christmas film to watch! There are SOOO many good ones now, Netflix is putting out great ones almost every week at the moment. Some of my classic favourites are The Holiday, Arthur Christmas and Love Actually but there are so many out there. Pick your fave and soak up that festive magic!

STEP FOUR

Once your Christmas film is over, it is important to take some time out to reflect. If you’ve enjoyed your evening with friends or family, take some time to chat about how you’re feeling and check in with everyone. If you’re on your own you might want to have some quiet time, read your bible or have a prayer time to thank God for bringing his Son to Earth, this Light of the World. I find taking time to do this gives the evening a nice peaceful end and allows you to go to bed with a grateful heart.

Hopefully this has given you some inspiration for having your own Christmas pamper evening and it has encouraged you to take some time out for self-care. Remembering the reason for the season is really important and taking some time out in this way can help re-focus your mind.

There is so much excitement throughout this time of the year and so many things to be thankful for, it is really important to keep the true meaning of Christmas in your heart.
