For a lot of us, January and February can become a bit of a slog, until March when Springtime comes around. Spring is a beautiful time of the year, filled to the brim with blessings of new-life and sunshine. There are lots of lovely, simple moments to be thankful for in the upcoming season so let’s get excited about what is to come.
Flowers. They are a simple blessing and one that can go amiss in the of busyness of everyday life. Yet there is such beauty in the sprouting daffodils that line the roads and gardens. The bluebells, tulips and snowdrops that line your route to school or work. Gorgeous pink petunias and deep violent pansies- all a sight to behold in the Springtime. Flowers have the power to ignite beauty and loveliness in even the darkest of places and bring joy in the saddest of times.
The changing of the seasons brings new styles to look forward to as well. When the make-up gets a little lighter, cheeks a little rosier and lips a little glossier. Fashions become more pastel, with pinks and lilacs coming centre stage as the black jumpers and boots get packed away for another year. White Converse paired with light denim jeans… and even wearing outfits without a coat, hat AND gloves! A look that has become practically extinct throughout the snowy winter months.
Spring cleaning may not seem like a blessing to everyone, but it’s so lovely to have a fresh, clean slate. A simple de-clutter of your bedroom can act like a de-clutter of the mind too. It’s surprising what a wardrobe clear-out and re-organise of your room can do to your outlook. Spring can be a time for re-evaluation and re-invigoration in every sense, as we go into a new season.
Remember ‘the Earth is full of the goodness of the Lord’ – Psalm 33:5 so take particular care in Spring to look for these heavenly blessings. It may feel like sometimes you have to look a little harder than others, but you will always find them.
Have a blessed Springtime!
