Have you ever believed with all your heart that God has called you to do something and you are so sure you heard Him speak and confirm that this was what your purpose in life or in this season was?
I know I have, but I have also had a period of silence, not hearing from God after I have been so certain that I had a green light from Him!
What do you do when doubt creeps in? Maybe you have been praying about serving at church, you are excited and passionate and are sure God has shown you the path you should take and all of a sudden….silence.
Our God is a good Father who is always intentional. Numbers 23:19 tells us that “God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfil?”
Whatever seed He has handed us and planted in us He is tending to, watering, watching, pruning, getting rid of the weeds and anything that might try and choke that seed from reaching its full potential.
I only wish we could only have a glimpse of all the good things God has planned for us. The number of times we would rest in His care instead and trust the process throughout the journey of life.
I know sometimes when I have faced a challenge the first thought that sneaks it’s way into my life is “maybe God has changed His mind” but Romans 11:29 tells us that “God’s gifts and His call can never be withdrawn”.
So there is no need to fear, as long as we are walking in God’s purpose and are listening to His voice He is right there guiding us and our next step.
“Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, This is the way; walk in it”. – Isaiah 30:21
Sometimes there will be silence, but God is present. Seasons will change, and change is hard to deal with, but the same God who was with you and walked with you throughout the last season, has gone ahead and prepared the season you will be entering into, so go on and trust the One who called you. He is right there with you through it all!
