Create A Cosy Bedroom Pinterest Would Be Proud Of

Create A Cosy Bedroom Pinterest Would Be Proud Of

The nights are drawing in and the temperatures are dropping which means it is the perfect time to get your favourite spaces all cosy for winter hibernation!

You want the perfect place to snuggle up with a hot chocolate and your favourite movie in these cold evenings. You don’t need to break the bank or do anything drastic – put the paintbrush down!

Simply a few changes will turn your room from a summer haven to your own cosy nook that Pinterest would be proud of.

A Fresh Slate

When you’re starting the whole ‘getting cosy’ process, it’s a good idea to have a bit of a de-clutter beforehand. Change over your wardrobes so that your chunky knit jumpers are easy to grab and put away those summer dresses for another year. You might want to move some of your furniture around too because it gives your room a ‘new’ feel to it.

It’s a great time to free up the space in front of your radiator, to get maximum heat, and check you’re using all your storage effectively! It’s nice to have a bit of a cleanse of your old stuff that you have picked up throughout the year to give you a nice clean slate too and definitely donate any bits to charity when possible.

I know tidying and organising isn’t always the most exciting job but it is a great way to get you and your room ready for a new season!

Lighting & Accessories

Next up is the fun part – adding some seasonal lighting! You could do a couple of simple things like getting some fairy lights, you can get some really cheap ones from around £1.50, and they can really change your space. You can put them around your mirror, shelves or window sill and they will make any space feel super cosy.

This time of the year is perfect for adding some candles too, there are such a wide variety of scents out there for any occasion. A good alternative to candles, if you’re younger, in university halls or just generally accident-prone, then room diffusers are a really simple way to add a sweet scent to your room without the fire hazard!

Of course, chunky blankets and cushions are the best way to get your space cosy… you can never have enough of them! Whether it’s your old favourite blanket or you want to invest in some new fluffy cushions, they will instantly lift your room.

The Personal Touch

Adding some simple personal touches will make it extra homely too. You could get some of your favourite photos from the summer printed online, or do it yourself, and choose some photo frames or hang them from your fairy lights. The simple, personal touches to your bedroom really are what makes it a special place to be.

Hopefully you now have a few different ideas about getting your room extra cosy for the upcoming months, allowing it to become the perfect backdrop to all your movie nights and winter memories! It’s important to embrace your space and make the best out of what you have, creating your own personal sanctuary.
