Share Your Testimony

written by Daniella November 26, 2017
Share Your Testimony

A testimony (according to the Cambridge dictionary) is ‘spoken or written statements that something is true’. There are a lot of things God does for us daily and often we end up forgetting as we get caught up in the whirlwind of life.

But there are some significant situations in our lives that God brings us through and it’s amazing when we share those stories with others.

Take a moment to think about a situation or time in your life that you really had to rely on and trust in God…It can be anything from helping you get through your years at school or helping to you to see yourself the way God sees you. The chances are, someone else may be going through right now what you’ve been through! When we share our stories we are sharing our faith, and that can help increase others’ faith for what they are facing, too!

David says:

“I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.” – Psalm 22:22

Declaring God’s name can be done in so many ways, but one of these ways is through sharing personal testimonies. Through sharing stories of what God has done for you to your friends, family and even people you don’t know, it can encourage them to trust in God.

An example of someone that shared their testimony is the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4). After her encounter with Jesus, she went to go tell the Samaritans all about it.

“Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony.” – John 4:39

Imagine if she kept quiet because of the fear of what people would say about her? These people could have missed a chance to experience Jesus! Well, we thank God she was bold and brave and did share her testimony, PHEW!

There are many ways you can share your testimony, you don’t have to wait for a big platform to do it! You can share your testimony in every day conversation, at church, through a Facebook status, blog or even on Youtube. Luckily for us, in the times we are in if you have something to share there are many different ways to do so!

Sharing is caring as they say, right? So share your testimony!
