‘New year new me’ etc etc…
So how are those vision boards holding up? Still eating healthily? I know girl. I fell off too. It’s only month three of 2020 and I’ve eaten more lollipops than I can count, procrastinated way more than I should of, and did I mention that I reinstalled Instagram back onto my phone?
On New Year’s Eve at approximately 23:59 I was on a high. We had been singing and praising our way out of 2019, personally I was done with the year. New Year, New Me, New decade, bring it on! My eyes shone as the countdown began, I soaked in the atmosphere of hope, adrenaline, excitement and anticipation and took it all the way with me to day 5 of 2020. I had already eaten a packet of Doritos, only exercised once that week and left all my work to the last minute. It seemed like my 2019 woes had followed me straight into 2020.
Trying to start a new habit; or drop a bad one, doesn’t happen overnight, and it certainly doesn’t happen within one second between 2019 and a new decade. It takes a while and it’s a process. So, if you’re still trying to build up new habit then keep at it girl! The fact that you haven’t given up will pay off and is enough to give yourself a pat on the back. And if you have fallen off the bandwagon, don’t be too hard on yourself. Everything you need God had given it to you tenfold with His spirit. Continue to lean on him for guidance and strength to be more like him one day at a time.
‘Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them’ – Isaiah 42:9
