As we are now well and truly underway in this year of 2016, I love to take out my scrapbook and fill it up with the exciting things I did in 2015.
Postcards, train tickets, foreign receipts from abroad and cut-out pictures of family and friends, I love creating a large collage of the things I have collected over the year.
One thing I love most about this activity is sticking in something I call my grateful memos. Grateful memos are little paper snippets that I fill my jar with of all the things I am grateful for each day. It is super simple to start and I’ll show you how!
It involves two easy steps.
Let’s get started!
You will need:
1. If your jar has any gunk in it wash or rinse it out and towel dry.
2. At the end of each day write down at least one thing you are grateful for.
Sometimes when I am feeling annoyed or sad I empty out my jar and read the little grateful memos I have written. It lifts me up, makes me laugh (or cry) and allows me to be more appreciative of the good things that have happened in my life, it also gives me a new perspective on any challenging circumstance I may come up against.
At the end of the year instead of throwing the memos away, you can empty the jar and stick them in a plain paper booklet which you can always look over whenever you feel like it. The jar is now empty for more grateful memos in the New Year!
HAPPY GRATEFUL MEMO’ING!
