A Letter To My Younger-Self

written by Jess Whitley September 10, 2017
A Letter To My Younger-Self

Dear younger me,

Here are some things I want you to know…

1.Don’t pluck your eye brows. I know you won’t believe this but you will want really thick eye brows when you are older.

2.You don’t need to wear makeup. Enjoy youthful glowy skin, when you are a twenty something you will notice your skin changing and will wish you were 16 again!

3.Embrace being you with all your quirks, stand firm in your faith and who you are. Some people won’t get you, don’t change.

4.Communicate with your family, even through the hard things.

5.Don’t cut your hair short like Natalie Imbruglia. The hairdresser is a little scissor happy and you will end up with a bowl haircut. Not fun and it will take ages to grow back.

6.Also don’t dye your hair dark brown, again not a good look on you.

7.Be grateful for Gods Protection, Closed doors are his blessings. Trust me.

8.Don’t like boys until you’re like twenty. Seriously. Just don’t.

9.Invest more time with family relationships. Your family will always be with you. Some friends are only for a season. People change and that’s ok. (P.S don’t worry Heather and you will still be best friends at 31 years old)

10.Learn how to cook and bake. Don’t rely on Marks and Spencers.

11.You will be an Auntie to the most amazing nieces and nephews. Babysit as much as you can and enjoy all the cuddles.

12.Be Brave and be you. God has an amazing plan for you – trust his timing and enjoy the adventure.

Love Jess x
